As you could probably tell from my first post I am not a weight loss buff. I don't know my options on weight loss programs, I don't know how many calories I am supposed to eat per day or how many servings from each food group I am supposed to have (I have lots of research to do & thanks for all who have been giving me tips!) All I know is I am tired of being FAT! I know, I know FAT is such a horrible word to use ... would you prefer me to say chubby? There, I am sick and tired of being chubby!
When it comes to my eating habits each day, in the past I had no routine, no plan I just ate what I wanted when I wanted to. My plan now has been to start off by changing that first. So my snacks are thought out and planned so I don't overdo it. I figure if I start at least eating healthier then that in itself will make a HUGE difference!
When I went on my 'healthy grocery shop' I came home with a few items such as 'helluva good dip' for dippin' my veggies and 'light whipped cream' to eat with my fruit. When I came home with excitement to show Josh how many healthy items I got he gave me a confused look and said, "Helluva Good dip and whipped cream? Those aren't healthy for you!" I couldn't believe my ears. What did he expect me to do go from eating chips for breakfast to sitting down to watch a movie with a dry celery stick? NO WAY! I have to take it easy I expained to him. I don't want to put my body into shock lol.
Since I was so used to just eating whatever, whenever I didn't even know what my weaknesses were or when my hardest slump was gonna attack me... Until last night. I realized my weakness is junk food not only for breakfast but at another horrible hour, NIGHT TIME! I realized this as I was watching dancing cupcakes on 'America's Got Talent' Not even joking, there were dancing cupcakes on the stage. Not to mention my dad was also eating my favorite meal right beside me, pasta with parm cheese all over it (pasta was not whole wheat). I heard a great tip though, if you are hungry at night drink a large glass of water. I am going to try that when the cupcakes begin dancing through my head tonight at about 8:15 once the twins are down for the night.
So let's cut to the chase here's what I ate today:
BREAKFAST - 1 Small cup of 'DANONE creamy strawberry yogurt'.
SNACK - 1 Small whole wheat wrap with peanut butter.
LUNCH - 1 I have to admit rather large bowl of 'Campbell's Gardennay Vegetable soup' with a few too many salted top crackers. A glass of lemonade.
SNACK - 1 Small container of cut up brocolli, celery, and cucumber with some 'Helluva good dip'. A small handful of flax seed corn chips.
DINNER - Rice (unfortunately not healthy rice it was 'Uncle Ben's) & 2 fried eggs. A glass of lemonade.
SNACK - Frozen strawberries and peaches with a dollup (sp?) of light whipped cream.
Now if I haven't told you enough of my bad eating habits here is another issue I have. Beverages. I might drink a glass of water every couple of days and besides that I drink juice. My old self, pop. So here's what I need to accomplish over the weekend: What program am I following so I can answer everyone's question as well as drink WAY more water!
If you're anything like me, just because it's the weekend let's try not to binge on junk food! Have a great weekend everyone!
I am in the same boat....I need to drink way more water! Sounds like you are doing great!! Keep up the good work!! very inspirational!

I've heard that a good rule of thumb for your daily calories is to take your goal weight (so in your case 180) and add a 0 to get your total calories (so 1800). I never count the exact number of calories in a day but I try to keep a rough count in my head.
ReplyDeleteFor the drinking lots of water thing... I like to freeze raspberries and blueberries and put them in my water bottle with lemon. Then throughout the day I fill it with water and ice. It’s not juice but it gives the water some flavor and you can always add splenda or a sweetener.
The weekend is always the worst for me too! But I do look forward to our Boston Pizza date and the BBQ on Saturday!
What about weight watchers? Its not too expensive to join online, and you can still eat the things you like, just in smaller portions. If you have a smartphone, there's an app called Ultimate Points Calculator that calculates how many points you should eat and tracks your food, and it's FREE! (It's not actually associated with WW, it just copies all of there math-y stuff).
ReplyDeleteOr supposedly the way that Princess Kate lost her weight is with something called the Dukan Diet...
Good luck!
1 large water bottle filled with ice. Add a little bit of Lime Cordial (found in the beverage aisle) and fill it up with water. Or one juice box, a bit of water, frozen fruit and blend to create a fruit slush. If water is driving me nuts I will do juice and water in equal portions. Remember - one day at a time!
ReplyDeleteOh, I wanted to mention too, that if you don't mind cool whip, you can get the 95% fat free kind. It's in a turqoisey green container!
